Sauerkraut Spätzle with chicken frankfurters

A hearty German-inspired dish the whole family will love.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp (30ml) olive oil
  • 4 beech-wood smoked chicken Frankfurters, sliced
  • 1 cup (150g) Sauerkraut
  • 350g Spätzle wheat noodles
  • 1 Tbsp (15ml) pepper

Method:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add the sliced Frankfurters and cook until lightly browned, about 5 - 8 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the spätzle to the pan with an extra tablespoon of olive oil, brown for about 8 minutes.
  3. Add the sauerkraut and cooked Frankfurter to the skillet and cook until heated through.
  4. Season generously with black pepper and serve immediately
